Healthy Sweet Marie Bars (no sugar, no dairy)

This is like a healthier version of a sweet marie bar or rice krispie square.

Melt together on medium-low heat:
1/2 – 3/4 cup brown rice syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla
cinnamon and salt to taste
3/4-1 cup of peanut, almond or cashew butter

While the mixture is still warm, stir in 2 tbsp margarine or butter. Then add 4 cups gluten free brown rice krispies or puffed rice cereal and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional). Press into a greased pan. When set cut into squares.

Optional – Ice with melted carob or bittersweet chocolate.
