Spiced Pears

5 ripe medium pears (about 4 cups chopped)

½ cup apricot nectar or ½ cup apple cider or pear juice

¼ cup water

1/8 tsp. dry ginger powder

3 cloves

3 cardamom seeds (about 1 pod) or 1 – 2 cinnamon sticks

1/16 sea salt

Wash, quarter and core pears. Chop in ½ inch pieces. Put all ingredients in medium saucepan and cook uncovered over medium heat for 15 minutes or until soft. Serve hot or warm.
